Association of Justice Counsel Files Policy Grievance in Response to Updated Workplace Directive

Public sector unions, including the AJC, signed letters with the Employer agreeing that telework would be discussed prior to any changes to prescribed presence in the workplace.

The AJC is aware of difficulties in implementing the pay provisions in the collective agreement.

We would like to provide you with an update on the implementation of the new collective agreement, as communicated to us by the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS).

Further to our previous message, we want to provide additional context regarding the delay in updating the rates of pay in the system.

The Association of Justice Counsel (AJC) stands in unwavering support of Legal Aid Alberta amidst its current conflict with the provincial government.

As you may know, Treasury Board plans to update the Directive on Prescribed Presence in the Workplace to increase in-office presence to three days a week.

As previously communicated, the AJC reached a tentative agreement with the Treasury Board on February 9th, 2024 and you, the members, ratified this agreement on March 1st, 2024.

We are pleased to announce that on March 1st, 2024, AJC members ratified the Collective Agreement negotiated between the AJC and Treasury Board.
