Resolution Reached for the Department of Justice Canada’s LP-01 Training and Development Program

Tuesday, April 7, 2026

The Department of Justice Canada and the Association of Justice Counsel (AJC) are pleased to announce a resolution addressing the outstanding grievances and complaints brought by the AJC regarding the pause of the LP-01 Training and Development Program as well as redress measures for individual grievances.

This is an important program. The Department recognizes the challenging effects its pause had on participants. As part of the resolution, the Department has confirmed its goal of relaunching the Program as soon as feasible, anticipated by no later than April 2027. The AJC will be meaningfully consulted by the Department on the relaunch.

Further details of the resolution reached will be communicated directly to all participants who were in the LP-01 Program at the time of the pause, including redress measures relating to the Program pause for individual employee groups.

This outcome reinforces our joint commitment to hearing and addressing your workplace concerns and continuing to support your professional careers.
