Ottawa, May 7, 2026 – The AJC has served notice to begin bargaining with the Treasury Board on behalf of more than 3,500 members working as Crown counsel, notaries and articling students for the Government of Canada. The AJC is entering this round of negotiations with a clear, member-driven mandate.
The current collective agreement expires on May 9, 2026. Bargaining dates will be shared as soon as they are confirmed.
Our members’ bargaining priorities
Members' priorities are clear: LPs deserve real recognition for the work they perform every day, including fair compensation, meaningful overtime and leave provisions, and stronger support for career progression and working conditions, including flexibility and remote work.
AJC members are central to Canada’s ability to govern effectively and defend itself legally, and Canadians rely on them to uphold fairness, accountability, and public safety. Their collective agreement should reflect the value of that work through fair working conditions and meaningful recognition for the critical work they deliver on behalf of Canadians.
