Members of equity-deserving groups may face discrimination and systemic barriers in the workplace or witness discrimination against colleagues. Addressing these challenges requires continued action and meaningful member involvement in shaping solutions.
As a federal union, the AJC has a responsibility to advocate for equitable opportunities and challenge the barriers that prevent members from participating fully in their workplaces. This work supports a federal legal workforce that reflects the diversity of the people it serves.
Turning commitment into action
The AJC’s commitment includes a dedicated Vice-President, EDIA role and a representative committee, with member involvement central to its work. These roles help ensure that the concerns of equity-deserving groups inform the union’s priorities and actions.
The AJC recognizes that significant work remains to eliminate systemic barriers. Information about upcoming initiatives and educational opportunities will be shared on this page as this work develops.
