On October 19, 2020, the Association of Justice Counsel (AJC) presented a policy grievance in support of Black and racialized employees who have, and continue to experience systemic anti-Black racism, anti-Black sexism and systemic discrimination.

On January 13th 2023, the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board denied the policy grievance the AJC filed in March 2020 on Normal Hours of Work which was referred to adjudication in January 2021.
In honour of Black History month, the AJC invites everyone to celebrate the many contributions of Black people throughout Canada’s history, but in particular the contributions of our Black members to the field of law.
On January 26, 2023, the AJC filed a policy grievance to challenge the employer’s unilateral decision to impose the Common Hybrid Work Model and force our members back into the workplace 2-3 days per week.
On December 15th 2022, the National Joint Council of bargaining agents met virtually with Treasury Board officials and were informed that the Employer will be introducing a new common hybrid work model for federal public servants.
The Negotiations Committee and its Joint Compensation Working Group are very pleased to announce that the expert’s decision on whether or not the recently agreed-to contextual information should be considered by the compensation experts in relation to their internal relativity study has been delivered and it is favorable to the AJC on all fronts.
The AJC is concerned with the Ford Government’s use of legislation to pre-emptively end a labour action in violation of the Charter, and concurrently insulate such action from judicial scrutiny by invoking the notwithstanding clause.
As we have done in the past, in other jurisdictions, the AJC is lending its support to our colleagues at the Alberta Crown Attorneys’ Association as well as our colleagues in the defense bar in their pleas for secure, adequate and stable funding for the legal aid system in Alberta.
On July 25, 2022, the Federal Court dismissed the judicial review application filed by the Association of Justice Counsel (AJC) to help ensure that the health and safety of our members is protected in federal courts across the country.
