The AJC advocates on behalf of its members with the federal government, policy makers, members of Parliament, senators, and Canadians to strengthen understanding of the essential role legal practitioners play in Canada’s justice system and public service.

The AJC also works with other unions and with national and provincial organizations that share common priorities, particularly on issues affecting Crown counsel and their conditions of employment.

The AJC President serves as the primary advocate for members, supported by elected representatives and key AJC staff. This includes the Vice-President of Advocacy & Communications, Vice-President of Health & Safety, Vice-President of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Accessibility, Vice-President of Labour Relations, Executive Director, General Counsel, Director of Advocacy & Bargaining, and Director of Representation Services.

Together, this work ensures that AJC members have a strong voice where decisions affecting their work and the federal justice system are made.
