IMPORTANT UPDATES ON COVID-19 GUIDANCE AND 699 LEAVE

Friday, March 4, 2022

The Public Service Occupational Health Program (PSOHP) updated their occupational health guidance regarding COVID-19 on February 28th 2022. The key points AJC members should be aware of are that departments will now resume their return to the workplace plans and increase building occupancy, keeping in mind the need for physical distancing. As well, the use of medical masks or respirators (i.e., N-95 masks or equivalents) will be mandatory in all indoor spaces, at all times. Cloth masks are no longer considered to be adequate.

We’ve also learned from Treasury Board that the temporary revised 699 leave guidance issued in response to the Omicron variant in December 2021 will end, and of effective March 1st, 2022 the guidance adopted November 15, 2021, will be back in force.

The AJC’s Representation Services Team continues working to support members in addressing concerns with Treasury Board’s Covid-19 vaccination policy, and supporting members in their accommodation requests.

If you have any questions or require assistance, please reach out to your GC representative or fill out an intake form.
